What Are the Risks of Microneedling?

Microneedling is considered safe and effective. Some of the risks can include bruising, discomfort, dryness, slight redness, skin irritation and swelling. There is also the possibility of side effects such as infection and skin pigment changes.

What is the Recovery Like?

The inflammatory effect of the skin is short and fades within hours of your San Diego microneedling treatment. It should change from redness to pinkish within 48 hours. You may feel sensitivity for a few days after your first treatment. You may start to peel three to five days after your microneedling treatment in San Diego. It is best not to scratch at the treated skin and use moisturizers. Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours and sun exposure for three to ten days because of open pores.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is very unique because we can actually utilize this treatment to build new strong healthy organized collagen and elastin fibers, thereby dramatically improving the tone texture and surface of your skin. We use our specially engineered automated device with very small needles to create microscopic channels in the skin layers. The skin responds to this treatment over the course of the next several weeks by producing new collagen and elastin to deposit in these microchannels.
